Industrial design and production
Function, technology and form, and the sensory experience of using an object. Drawing on my own projects, I discuss product ranges, re-engineering and the constraints of series production.

I share what I learn through practice: how an idea becomes an object, how packaging speaks to a buyer and how a product comes across on screen. Each talk takes shape around the audience, drawing on projects, observations and questions.

What do we offer, to whom and how? Positioning, buyer behaviour, structure, materials and graphics come together in a design that works from the shelf through use and disposal.
How history, architecture, local recipes and nature become a product’s visual language. Naming, a recognisable sense of place and packaging people want to keep.
How to convey the qualities of an object people cannot touch. Product pages, master data, infographics, photography, video and 3D; content production and opportunities for automation.
I designed the software architecture of PIM/DAM systems for managing product information and digital assets. It centres on master product records, description standards, the organisation of photography, video and 3D assets, and collaboration between teams preparing content for different sales channels. This experience informs my talks on the digital shelf.
