Lemonade packaging / 2013
Russkiy Dar
A familiar name. A lighter summer spirit.
A familiar name. A lighter summer spirit.
In 2013, Russkiy Dar wanted to build on its established presence in Russia’s kvass market and enter the lemonade category. Kvass is a traditional fermented grain drink, widely enjoyed in Russia, particularly in summer. The new range needed a character of its own while retaining the brand’s recognition.
The kvass packaging was defined by a red label and a central black emblem featuring the name and bird. I retained the emblem, changing its hue with each flavour, and kept red stripes behind it to connect the lemonade with the original range. Horizontal stripes bring a light, summery rhythm; clear spaces let the drink itself become part of the colour palette.
The fruit graphics are deliberately restrained: silhouettes identify the added juice rather than dominate the label. Flavour descriptions sit over the silhouettes, with dark lettering on the light apple drink and white lettering on the darker berry lemonade. The transparent sleeve wraps the bottle in a balance of colour, liquid and light.
